Colored LEDs

The CIE color space chromatic diagram is based on the physiological features of the human eye, to assess color through its separation into three fundamental chromatic components (three-color process): red, blue and green are positioned in the three corners of the diagram.

The CIE xy chromaticity diagram can be obtained for each color. Spectral colors (or pure colors) can be found along the curve, while the colors contained in the diagram are real colors. In fact, the color white (as well as all the other colors located in the center – achromatic or grey colors) is not a pure color that can be combined with a specific wavelength.
